The 4th Trimester:
Transition and Transformation

24th Annual Indiana Perinatal Educators Conference

Does giving birth make a mother?  By definition, yes.
But, pregnancy and birth don't always equip a woman for the role that lies ahead.
Is our job as birth professionals complete when the placenta is delivered?

Join us for a day of exploring the often forgotten 4th trimester, a time of transition and transformation that can affect a woman and her family for the rest of their lives.

Featuring:

Birdie Gunyon Meyer, past president of Postpartum Support International, discussing Entering Motherhood and the Many Faces of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder

Ashlee Wells Jackson of the 4th Trimester Project will discuss and show in photography the beauty and reality of the new mother’s body transition

Dr. Harvey Karp, author of the Happiest Baby on the Block will be a special guest speaker, presenting the concepts of calming infants and how these concepts impact the whole family
